Love........an unfathomable thing! I keep thinking, is the word overrated or underestimated? I really do not know, it just keeps me thinking and thinking.. You know, I have heard many true life stories about love, be it from the religious aspect or life generally, relationship, parental, and so on..I just cannot come to any conclusion.

These random thoughts brought me into asking the wonderful people around me what their views about love is really. Personally, I sometimes feel that love is something we are compelled to feel in this life, you know, more like a criterion because of some situations I have found myself in! Can the feel of attachment be compared to love? Do they really mean the same thing? Well to ease out certain 'misconceptions' I have about the word'love' I had to go all out...here are few things my colleagues told me about love, in their own words...

Love is wonderful, love sucks, love is life, love is giving,love is kind and most of all, love is understanding - Bukola

Hmmmmnn...from the biblical aspect which defines the basis of my belief,love defines almost every concept about life and love is part of life. Love is an affection we have for people/things that can make us sacrifice anything for them that is why God sacrificed his only begotten son - Steve

Love is the worst kind of risk you can take but it is beautiful - Ibrahim

Love is a Zombie,why? because it has taken too many hit, it has jumped on a grenade,jumped in front of  a train,badly and utterly wounded, love must always have scars and wounds to show - Gbenga

"when I think about love, I think about someone that can do anything for me without thinking otherwise irrespective of who the person is to me" . Moving on, I had to poke more people so I can get my thoughts together and here are the few things they shared with me on their thoughts about love :

Love is commitment,sacrifice and friendship. It is being able to look out for the good of your partner even when you are upset. It is a companionship that becomes your life such that there is a sense of awkwardness when you are without your 'special person' in "your-stay-together-places" you just catch yourself wishing and smiling while reminiscing ...lol.. Love is correction that focuses on the issue not the person, it is being sincere and genuine... Love is sweet...Love is the way to live if you want to be happy! - Obbie

Love na, wetin be love (what is love) really the definition is vague,meaning different things with different people..love is (hissed) I cant put in words na (frustrated) but to love is to show affection. - King

First thing that comes to my mind is God. God is love and I think He is the only that has practiced 100%. Humans find it difficult to practice it 100%. There must always be something attached to it for humans before they can show it, Exception to this is parental love. - Bro Jude

OOPS!!! So from all these, I can say Wikipedia has gotten nothing on us.. I believe the perception of love should be based on what we feel.. I agreed to follow what our religious bodies preach but I think it is not enough because I feel love is from within..you cant help but to feel it if the situation is right. Our experiences in life matters a lot because I belief it is a great citadel of learning and development..we should always learn to tap from it before weighing things out, not to fall prey of the popular saying which states 'love hurts'

In conclusion, from what people have said above, love is all about sacrificing, trusting people, giving without expecting anything in return, being selfless, love is many things put together... I can only say, love is still a mystery that is yet to be unraveled because I do not understand how something that is so beautiful and pleasurable to you can at the same time be so painful that it can even destroy your life to an unsavory point.
